Aims
Opera News: Journal of Music and Performing Arts is a monthly, diamond open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing scholarship, creativity, and critical dialogue in music and the performing arts. The journal provides an international platform for researchers, educators, performers, composers, directors, choreographers, designers, and other creative practitioners to communicate original ideas, research findings, artistic practices, and critical perspectives.
The journal aims to strengthen connections between academic research and professional artistic practice by publishing work that contributes to the understanding, interpretation, creation, teaching, production, and performance of music and the performing arts. It encourages historical, theoretical, analytical, cultural, pedagogical, technological, and practice-based approaches, as well as interdisciplinary research that brings the performing arts into dialogue with the humanities, social sciences, education, media, technology, and cultural studies.
Through its diamond open-access model, the journal makes all published content freely available to readers and does not charge authors submission, processing, or publication fees. All research submissions are evaluated through a single-blind peer-review process to maintain academic quality, originality, and relevance.
